BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:20 P.M) – The Israeli Army has sent several tanks to the border of the Gaza Strip this evening as the hostilities continue between the latter and Palestinians.
According to local reports, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have surrounded the Gaza Strip with tanks and their military personnel.
The IDF is expected to kickoff a new military operation in the Gaza Strip after more than 80 rockets struck the Israeli settlements nearby.
The hostilities between the Palestinians and IDF began last night when the latter carried out an operation to kill a high ranking Hamas commander.
Following the death of the Hamas commander, both the latter and the IDF traded attacks, resulting in the death of eight Palestinians and one Israeli soldier.
The last time the Israeli military invaded the Gaza Strip was in the Summer of 2014; this military operation led to thousands of casualties and wide spread destruction.
