According to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) Spokesman Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis, the army discovered a sixth and largest tunnel crossing into the country and is now working on its destruction, eliminating the threat posed by it.
He added, however, that “there is more work to be done to uncover and neutralise [the tunnels]”.
Operation Northern Shield was launched by the Israeli Defense Forces on December 4th in a bid to thwart Hezbollah’s alleged plan to invade the Upper Galilee region.
Since launched the operation, the Israeli Defense Forces have unearthed seven tunnels, three of which led into the Upper Galilee region.
