BEIRUT, LEBANON (6:20 P.M.) – A jihadist commander was assassinated in the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate on Monday, opposition activists reported on social media.

According to the reports, the field commander of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham “Abu Ja’afar Talmanas” was assassinated by a group of unknown assailants inside the southern region of the Idlib Governorate on Monday.

The reports said that Talmanas was driving with his brother inside the town of Tal Mannas when the unknown assailants opened fire on his vehicle, killing both men in the process.

No group has announced responsibility for this latest assassination in the Idlib Governorate.
